Paradise Point-Island Getaway

Paradise Point is a beautiful island resort located off of Mission Bay in San Diego. But unlike many other resorts, it is nestled on it's own 44 acre peninsula, which makes you feel like you've escaped to a tropical oasis. The first detail that stood out about Paradise Point was the amount of luscious gardens and beautiful palm trees. There is so much to see and explore, plus beautiful views of the bay.

Property

The moment you arrive at the property, you feel like you have transported to a tropical island. Between the island music playing, the hammocks, and the lagoons, it definitely feels like a relaxing getaway. The resort is filled with paths & trails that go through the gardens and water features. We would often see ducks waddling across the paths (which our kids loved!). Since the peninsula is right on Mission Bay, there is plenty of sandy beach for the kids to run and play. The grounds also have their own private marina with water sports equipment rentals.

There are a few different types of bungalow options for the guest rooms that include either views of the gardens, lagoons, or the bay. Our room was a bayside bungalow and was literally steps away from the sand.

Amenities

Our kids could have spent most of the days just exploring the property, but there is an array of activities and amenities that we all enjoyed as well. Paradise Point has 5 different pools (including an adult only pool), but we would hang out at the main pool that had a beach entry. My kids love miniature golf, so they loved putting around the beautiful miniature golf course, which is included with your stay. There is also a bike rental shop on the island, which offers tandem bikes and cruisers.

Another favorite activity was the fire pit rentals on the beach, that had the option of a s'mores fire pit experience--which the kids loved! The s'mores experience included chairs, the marshmallow roasters, s'mores kits, and of course the fire pit. It was a relaxing way to end our last evening on Paradise Point!

Food

There are many different dining options available at Paradise Point including a pool side restaurant. We ended up enjoying three of the restaurants while we were there: Tidal, Barefoot Bar & Grill, and Caveman Pizza. While dining at Tidal there are exceptional views of the bay, and the food is unique and tasty. At Barefoot Bar & Grill, we ended up enjoying the brunch so much, that we had to go back again the day we were leaving the resort. If you like peanut butter, try the Elvis French Toast--it was one of my favorite brunch meals ever!

Everywhere we turned was another breathtaking view. It was unlike any other resort that we have been to, and we can't wait to visit again sometime soon.
